Matrox Announces Multiple Graphics eXpansion Module Support

Matrox today announced multiple DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go Graphics eXpansion Module (GXM) support to drive up to four or six monitors, respectively, from a single system. A second GXM can now be connected to the secondary output of a supported dual monitor graphics card so two DualHead2Go GXMs can power up to four outputs in 2×2 or 4×1 modes, while two TripleHead2Go units can be combined to connect six displays to produce either a 3×2 or 6×1 set up. ATI Releases Catalyst 10.1 Video Card Drivers for Download

AMD has released the ATI Catalyst 10.1 video card drivers to the public for download. This release of ATI Catalyst brings sa couple game fixes for those that play Left 4 Dead 2 and Crysis along with numerous resolved issued for all Windows operating systems. The following performance gains are noticed with this release of ATI Catalyst 10.1:

Apple iPad to Cost $500

Apple's Steve Jobs has announced that the new Apple iPad will start at $500. The iPad will have built in WiFi and some models will come with 3G wireless. The top of the line iPad will have 64GB of built-in memory and 3G will cost $829. Apple says their unlimited data plan will cost only $30 per month with AT&T with no contract.

“We had a very aggressive price goal, because we wanted to put it in the hands of a lot of people. So we have a breakthrough deal in the US. We hope to have our international deals in the June / July timeframe. However, all of the iPad 3G models are unlocked, and they use the new GSM microSIMs.”

Ovi Maps (free navigation) hits the Nokia N97

Despite expectations that Ovi Maps 3.3 with free navigation would hit the Nokia N97 in a firmware update, it has popped up on Software Update (in the Applications folder) anyway as a 8MB download. Obviously, it’s not recommended if you’re starting off with less than about 30MB of free space on disk C: - in which case, you’re better off waiting for it in a firmware release. Do please comment if you spot this for another Nokia phone that wasn’t previously covered!
