Rumors continue to fly regarding Google's upcoming OS which is probably fueled more by desire than any factual data. Still, many rumors have their roots in fact so for now let's just say - keep your fingers crossed.

Pioneer has unveiled the BDR-205 Blu-ray Disc Computer Writer, the first writer in the industry capable of 12x write speed for single and dual-layer Blu-ray Disc (BD) media. For comparison, Blu-ray burners found in the market can only manage a maximum write speed of 8x, which makes Pioneers BDR-205 the current king of performance for Blu-ray writers. The burner will also be able to support reading and writing DVD/CD media at 16x/40x respectively. Boosting Pioneers Low Vibration Mechanism Design, overall writing accuracy is improved, important for users who often transfer mass amounts of data. The new BDR-205 Blu-ray Disc computer writer will begin shipping in October 2009 for system builders whilst its retail cousin, the BDR-2205, will be available Q1 2010 at a MSRP of USD$249.
